Great news for Fred fans, we have spent the last two weeks refurbishing the lineshafting that drives all Fred's machinery in the yard and workshop, we have replaced some bearings and greased the rest, as we are not yet ready for steam we have devised a method of turning the lineshafting with dare I say it a "Deisel engine" aarrgghh, but its such a thrill to see the lineshafting moving once again that I am sure Fred wouldnt mind as its only a temporary measure till we have steam. We have welded a large cog ( chainwheel ) onto the far end of the lineshaft and this is currently connectd to an electric , motor which is turning the machinery veeery slooowly, we are about to "Aquire" a deisel engine and this will be connected to the lineshaft with a very strong reynolds chain.
So come along and see freds lineshafting actually turning before your very eyes.
