Our Latest News page! This is where you will find up to date information on the Heritage Centre, as well as new items for sale. Should you have any requests for the site, please do contact us and we will certainly take your ideas on board. We are proud to announce at last that we are now able to offer "STAGE 2" DVD after a long wait! It's now available, so please get your orders in early to avoid disappointment! It has some really good footage of us working to get Fred's place ready for visitors, it shows me falling on my backside and nearly getting crushed by a rather large coping stone! It's well worth watching and we are sure it will cheer you up over the coming winter months. Stage one DVD is still available at the same price (we had to burn some more due to popular demand) so if you want them both we can offer a discount. Secondly, again due to popular demand, we asked you if you wanted a "Friends of the Heritage centre supporters club" . We have had an excellent response, so heres the deal! For an annual subscription of £20 you will get a twice annual emailed newsletter, with some great stories of Fred, some briliant pictures, some previously unseen video footage, a chance to send in your own stories of meeting or seeing Fred out and about, guest articles, and some articles by our fantastic volunteers. There will be a buy and sell classified ads section, discount deals on our exclusive memorabilia, and of course up to date news on whats been happening here, what jobs we are attempting to do next, what jobs we have done here, a chance to voice your opinions or idea's. You can if you wish upgrade to our premier membership for an extra £10 per annum as we are setting up a new website with exclusive access available to premier members. Yes it is a way of raising funds but we promise to give you value for money! There will be extra previously unseen video footage, extra discount deals, freebies, and much more to be announced. Every 6 monthly issue will include a draw and the winner will recieve a free ticket voucher worth £12. QUALITY ASSURED VISITOR ATTRACTION!
We are extremely proud to announce that we have recently been awarded official accreditation as a Museum by the VAQAS scheme, after our quality assessment by a VAQAS executive we were given the following official confimation, The Fred Dibnah Heritage Centre fully merits the accreditation of "Quality assured Visitor Attraction". In fact the comment from the assessor who was last here way back before we had even gained our planning consent, commented, and I quote "I am gobsmacked at how much you have achieved here in such a short time". We can also now publicly announce that we have now been granted charitable status for our trust, which means we can now accept donations and bequests, we can also now claim gift aid on any donatioins, we can now also apply for grants, yes including a lottery grant, that does not automatically mean we will qualify but will certainly be trying for one. Onwards and upwards for the Fred Dibnah Heritage Centre.
FRED'S CHIMNEY - THE LATEST!
Onwards and upwards for Fred's Chimney! Welding has been done on the 2 metre lengths of steel tubings which were dropped down the chimney. They were welded as they were lowered as they were very heavy and were then sunk in to the ground. Pictures here show the work in progress:
